Title: Chromecast may be controlled by any device connected to WLAN - turn it off?
Post by: Ruschi on January 02, 2017, 03:03:45 AM
Hey community,

I just bought a Chromecast 2. Everything works fine so far.
Only one thing is a little bit annoying:

When I stream Netflix or Spotify for example via my smartphone, any other smartphone in my WLAN may pause or stop my stream. The other phones get an icon therefore in their notifications bar. So they can see all the time in der notifications bar what I am streaming and they can stop or finish it.

Is there a way that only I can control my Chromecast although other smartphones are in my WLAN and to turn off notifications on other smartphones?

Thanks for help!

Daniel

How come nobody had answered this? I have hated the glitch for a long while.

You can turn it off on each phone. I agree that it is not a good feature, and it seems to be widely disliked. If you look on the android police site they have an article about this
