New here.  Bought ChromeCast based on store clerk telling me, yes, I can surf with my iPhone 4 and cast from it to TV.  I read all I could find, then downloaded the app for my desktop as first move.  It works.  I can surf, pull up forums with images, etc., and cast to the other room in the house just fine.  NOW, I thought, to get the same function on my iPhone 4 like I was told would work.  I can't find an app to use for it.  Then I read that there are legions of folks that have the same problem and were equally mis-lead by some one as I was.  And, to make it worse, the ChromeCast box implied I could do what i wanted as well.  We do not have enough data to stream Netflix, etc., and have no interest there.  I merely wanted it to extend my, "easy chair," surfing to the large TV screen.

So did I waste $35 or am I missing something?  Is there an iPhone app I'm missing?

Thanks for reading,
Dennis.....frustrated

I  don't have an iPhone but if you do a Google search for 'does chromecast work with iPhone' the first result is 'chromecast on the app store on itunes' - I'd start there

Thank you for your tip.  However, I've pretty well done the search route.  I did it again after your comment and did stumble across a new hit.  Not encouraging.  Very vague reference to getting a chromecast app on an iPhone, and this remark:  "Unlike the Android experience, the iOS experience is solely based on app compatibility where the functionality has been specifically coded in so no desktop mirroring here."  This is the primary reason I got the Chromecast unit and it's beginning to look like I, along with zillions of others, have been mislead.

I'd like to see more comments and especially personal experiences posted here to continue to confirm my suspicions, or give me some new hope.  At the moment my desire to sit in front of my TV and, "cast," my web surfing onto the TV screen can't happen.  May more likely work with android units.

So far.........disgusting.

I'm using CC with iPhone 6 and besides the popular apps like YouTube, Netflix, TED etc you could try Pixocast and TV cast to cast local videos and websites. Keep in mind that a CC is not a mediaplayer but just a mediastreamer.  The clerk should've told you that.
