Audio and Video not in sync

Before using Chromecast viewed video with HDMI cable from Windows laptop to TV using VLC or DIVx player with excellent video and audio quality.

Used Chromecast yesterday, instead of HDMI cable (using VLC and DIVx player) and audio is out of sync with video and video is choppy.

Moved laptop to within 2ft of Chromecast dongle and symptom still remained. Router download shouldn't be relevant as problem doesn't exist with HDMI cable input but for info router download speed is >3.8 Mbps

Solution?

Same here. They keep saying it is the wifi connection. I have tried three different wifi connections with the same results. I am beginning to believe the Chromecast may not be the way to go. When the new Roku comes out, I will decide to toss it or not!
