Chromcast Video and Audio
« on: December 12, 2013, 01:12:10 PM »
Questions applies to PC --> TV (local video file)

Scenario 1
Cast tab that is playing local video file --> TV plays video + audio (video choppy, in audio mode/480p tab quality )

Scenario 2
Cast entire screen that is playing local video file --> TV plays video (not choppy), PC speakers play audio

Scenario 1
--->Is it choppy probably because of network speed/computer speed?

Scenario 2
--->Is the video not choppy because Chromcast doesn't have to handle audio?
--->How do I get the output audio to be from the TV?

I can only get scenarios 1 & 2 when I use Chromcast. Ideally, I'd like scenario 2 with TV audio output.

Thanks for the help.

As of a couple of days ago I was able to cast my nexus5 and nexus7 2013 screen and audio to my Chromecast via Settings/Display/Cast_Screen. It worked great, except my N5 got pretty hot. As of last night though, and the fresh update to the Chromecast app from Google Play, audio won't cast anymore. 🙇
