When I chromecast a movie from my pc to my TV I get no sound.  From what I have read is that is normal at the moment. Any idea when that will be fixed? Or not fixed at all? I bought this primarily to watch my movie collection easily without burning to a disc then watching fro my dvd recorder/player

If I upload a movie to the google cloud will I be able to chromecast it to my tv WITH sound?

Have you tried installing plex media server then casting using this? Works fine this way for me, plus can cast off my phone or tablet using plex too.

It's August 25, 2014, the Google Cast option to "Cast entire screen" is still "experimental", and it will NOT cast the audio of a video.  That's at least 10 months in this state.  The future doesn't look very promising.

The ONLY reason I purchased Chromecast was to be able to play video from a PC on a TV in another location, using any video player I choose.  It's a good thing this product is reasonable cheap, or I'd be even more upset!
