freshly bought chromecast (christmas gift) with pixel error

hello everybody,

I bought an extra Chromecast for the household, as an extra gift from the elves...

sadly did I discover that the newest one has huge flaws in the picture when streaming whatever content we would like to watch!

I've tried switching their positions and streaming exactly the same content on both the original and the new one... the old one works perfectly with sharp edges and no disturbance at all!! the new is full of green and grey shadows/spots or whatever you wanna call them...

and now to my question... has any of you guys experienced (or maybe heard about this issue and eventually how to solve this issue?) I'm planning to go back to the store and return it ASAP but was wondering if there was anything I cut do myself, even though I guess it's pretty obvious that I got a "Monday-edition" ...
