Mirroring your mobile device's Android screen to your big screen tv or monitor is perhaps one of the most sought after capabilities that Chromecast buyers have been clamoring for.  Currently, unless you're working with a Miracast compatible device, a Chromebook or a PC running a Chrome browser, you're out of luck as Chromecast actively blocks any attempt to do just that and only allows compatible official 'apps' to have mirroring ability.  Well all that might change before long.  It seems that Koushik Dutta, one of the cofounders of CyanogenMod has posted screen captures that you can see above that shows that Google has been working on APIs that seem to be aimed at providing just such video mirroring in a future version of the OS.  Dutta, who himself has been working on a similar feature in CyanogenMod 11 for devices with AirPlay support believes the feature will remain locked down to approved devices.   Still, Android Mobile device owners will be elated if this comes to pass and it looks like it's just a matter of time.
