Chromecast Help / Re: How I solved my "no sound" issue.
« on: April 24, 2017, 03:39:08 AM »
I want to hear the sound thru headphones that are plugged into my pc.
I assume the casting is happening over wi-fi and not thru the ethernet cable.

I don't think that is possible, because when it casts, it's the Chromecast getting the video and audio streams, your PC is just controlling it. You would somehow have to get the audio back to your PC.

You can turn it off on each phone. I agree that it is not a good feature, and it seems to be widely disliked. If you look on the android police site they have an article about this

Chromecast And Android / Re: Android and IOS

Should be OK I reckon.  As you imply it's the Chromecast that does the streaming, the phone /tablet  is a controller. So if the iOS app has Chromecast support it should work.

Same as the first version.  $35 for each.
30 in the UK

Chromecast And Android / Re: Problems with volume netflix
« on: May 14, 2015, 02:36:57 AM »
I have never used the volume control on a phone/tablet when casting, I always use the TV's volume, can you do that?

I think that would be OK, as the tablet doesn't have to do much, as long as it can start the App that you want to cast, then the heavy work doing the streaming is done by the Chromecast itself

Chrome / Menu (3 horizontal lines at the top right) / Settings / Extensions

Install the Google Chrome browser, then the Google Cast  extension?

I  don't have an iPhone but if you do a Google search for 'does chromecast work with iPhone' the first result is 'chromecast on the app store on itunes' - I'd start there

I can't see what the problem is, if your iPad can connect to the WiFi then the Chromecast can as well. So as long as you have an App on the iPad which can Cast then you should be able to play things on the TV

Chromecast And Android / Re: Plex on Android buffers all the time

This won't help you much, but I use Plex on N4 and N7 via Chromecast without any buffering like you are seeing. Can you use other apps via chromecast?

Chromecast And Android / Re: Cast Streaming Video from my phone

I'm not positive, but I think if you go into the hamburger menu in the chromecast app and select cast screen, then open the Amazon app it should cast whatever is on your screen. I believe I did this once and it was not a completely satisfactory experience, but it did cast.

I tried this last night with Amazon Music, and yes it does cast, but the sound is really choppy. I gave up. I hope Amazon add Chromecast support as rumoured.

I'm not aware of any app that can do that. I have amazon prime instant video and it doesn't cast, but apparently will do at some point in the future. As far as I know it is up to individual app developers to add chromecast functionality
