I actually just heard from Joseph a few weeks ago.  He said he had stopped working on Local Guru and was trying to sell it.  I have a feeling it's not active anymore.  I think i'll take the page down in the next few days when I have something new to put up.  Thanks for trying it though.  I was working last year when I put the story up but I think it never got enough users to make it worthwhile for Joseph to continue with it.
I downloaded Local Guru figuring it would be interesting when we travel. I decided to test it and could not get it to work. It identifies that I'm living at the NJ Shore, but can find nothing within 500 miles. I should be seeing thousands of things. I live in a tourist haven and even NYC is within 500 miles. I tried all of the "filters" settings but still show zero results. Sent an email to Joe and hope to hear back.

Chromecast Help / Re: Connectivity (RV television)

Chromecast works with all 3 Furrion TVs in my coach. I'm suspecting a resolution problem. Try different settings on the TV. Start at 480 and see if that helps.

if you wanna to change some digital files such as MKV, VOB , WMV, MPG, MOV , FLV files, even the BD or DVD files to any other video format withi original audio and video effects, the all-in-one Video Converter Ultimate program will a nice choice for you. It is a yet professional all-in-one Blu-ray Ripper, DVD Ripper and HD Video Converter, which comparatively has better output quality, in particular HD videos and intuitive interface. What's more, its deinterlacing function and merging, cropping, trimming, adding subtitles ability are what its many competitive products lack of. If you are Mac users, please turn to iMedia Converter for Mac.

In the UK
   Thanks for any reply

I am not familiar with your hudl tablet but if you have access to the Google Play Store, the Chromecast app is available there. If not you could try to find the apk and installing it.

Chromecast Help / Re: How I solved my "no sound" issue.

reply to # 1 on:
My setup is Samsung 47" HDTV w/ 5.1 surround sound (only using 3.1), Pioneer 1019AH AVR, Samsung Blu Ray & Tivo Bolt.
Tried most of the suggestions to no avail. Wanted to maintain 3.1 stereo without having to go into settings and change speaker setup. Simplest solution was to unplug CC and plug it into the available HDMI on the AVR. Works great!! Requires changing HDMI (source) on both the TV and the AVR. My TV lists one of my TV's HDMI's as "Chromecast" and the AVR says the CC is using it's HDMI 2. I'm guessing all of the devices are now using the only "out" HDMI going to the TV for audio. I'm happy with it, as I only have to switch "sources" on both the TV and the AVR.

I want to hear the sound thru headphones that are plugged into my pc.
I assume the casting is happening over wi-fi and not thru the ethernet cable.

I don't think that is possible, because when it casts, it's the Chromecast getting the video and audio streams, your PC is just controlling it. You would somehow have to get the audio back to your PC.
